Welcome to Travelling History

Welcome to Travelling History! I’m Kelly, a Canadian travel writer and content creator splitting my time between Canada and the United Kingdom. I explore the world’s most fascinating historical destinations, from iconic landmarks and museums to tours, hotels, restaurants, and even historic pubs. My goal is to bring the stories of the past to life and inspire travellers to experience history firsthand.

I grew up in Toronto, Canada, where my love of history started young—whether it was mummifying my dolls or building cardboard castles! In 2013, I moved to Scotland to complete my master’s degree in Scottish history, and spent the next seven years living in both Glasgow and London. During that time, I worked in heritage and marketing for some of the world’s most historic Scotch whisky and gin brands, while also starting Travelling History in 2014.

In 2020, I returned to Canada, gaining further experience in marketing with well-known travel and history television networks. I relaunched Travelling History in 2022 to continue sharing stories from North America, the UK, and beyond.
